The Don's Sara Decrescerno and Annie McKinley each had two goals in the Don's exciting 8-7 win over Amador Valley in Women's Lacrosse action Tuesday. Acalanes is now 2-0 in DVLL play. The Men's Lacrosse team dropped their game by the exact same score of 8-7, and are now 0-2 in league play. J.B. Munch continued his strong season with 4-goals to lead the Don's.

The Acalanes Men's Lacrosse Team seemed to have their way with all opponents in their inaugural season last year finishing with just a few loses. This season, the team has played some tough teams in non-league games, but is still looking for their first league win. On Monday, the Don's ran into a very good team from Berkeley High (6-1) in yet another non-league game and were beaten convincingly 14-6. This tough schedule should prove to benefit the team as they hit their stride during DVLL league play where they are currently reside with at 0-1.

The varsity men's lacrosse team had an exciting victory at Bishop O'Dowd High School Thursday 3/27. Acalanes jumped to an early lead, with the score 6 to 2 at half time. Bishop O'Dowd fought back, and in the 4th quarter narrowed Acalanes' lead to 8 to 7. Ian Yamaguchi & Todd Ebe scored the last 2 goals, to ice the victory for Acalanes with a final score of 10 to 7. The leading scorer was Ian Yamaguchi with 4 goals and 2 assists, followed by J.B. Munch with 2 goals. Todd Ebe and Sacha Silvani each had 1 goal and 1 assist. Additional goals were scored by Sam Briggs and Steve Condon. On the defense side of things, goalie Eric Morse had a terrific game with 20 saves.

Acalanes will host Monarch High on Saturday with a 2:00pm game time. Come out and check out the action.

The men's lacrosse team families hosted 28 players visiting from the Monarch School of the Denver, Colorado area this past week, during their spring break. Monarch played games against Miramonte, University High School (SF) and Acalanes. Acalanes won the Saturday game with a final score of 7-3. Sam Briggs had 2 goals and 1 assist. Todd Ebe also contributed 2 goals. Justin Klueger scored 1 goal and had 1 assist. Additional goals were scored by Craig Beveridge and Sacha Silvani. Goalie Eric Morse had another strong game with 16 saves. Acalanes record is now 5-3.

The Don's Men's Lacrosse Team battled until the final minute in a great high-scoring game that eventually went to undefeated Foothill by a 13-10 final. Acalanes kept pace with the Foothill, and were tied at 9-9 going to the final quarter, but Foothill displayed why they are at the top of the DVLL (4-0), and outscored the Don's 4-1 in the last quarter for the win. Even in defeat, Acalanes has to look at the game as a positive as they displayed the scoring touch that got them to the DVLL title in the leagues inaugural season in 2002.

The Men's Lacrosse team had a very strong performance against San Ramon Valley Friday night, winning 10-3. San Ramon Valley scored the first goal 53 seconds into the game. Acalanes matched that within 15 seconds, & with their next goal led for the rest of the game. Leading scorers were sophomore J.B. Munch and junior Matt Wulf with 3 goals each. Junior defenseman Mark Govan scored his first goal of the season. Other scorers were Sam Briggs, Peter Musser, and Tyler Rey with one goal each. Acalanes is now 1-3 in the DVLL standings.

Acalanes Men's Lacrosse team led all the way, for a 10 to 4 victory over Campolindo Friday night. Leading scorers were Craig Beveridge with 2 goals & 2 assists, and Tyler Rey with 2 goals. Also scoring for Acalanes were Ian Yamaguchi with 1 goals and 2 assists, Sam Briggs & J.B. Munch with 1 goal & 1 assist each, and Todd Ebe, Justin Klueger and Matt Wulf with 1 goal. Dons are now 2-4 in league play. The last league game is Friday night May 2nd at Miramonte.

The Don's Men's Lacrosse team had two players earning All-DVLL honors with Junior Mark Govan making the First-Team on defense and Sophomore J.B. Munch making the Second-Team on attack. Ian Yamaguchi, Matt Wulf, Casey Nep, and Sacha Silvani were DVLL honorable mention. Congratulation to the Athletes!
